Many enemies use telegraphed

Neverwinter gear

With Strongholds on the horizon, it’s high time for a glimpse of the armor that awaits adventurers who bring glory to their guild. Whether you’re just now reaching level 70, or you’re geared to the teeth from dungeons and domination, there’s gear for you in Strongholds.

(Strongholds brings a number of new sets for PvP and PvE.)

For those players just reaching level 70, or those that haven’t had a chance to earn equipment from dungeons or domination, guild armor is for you. Item level 125, available in both a PvE and PvP variant, guild armor features a classic high fantasy, D&D style. You and your guildmates will be decked to the nines and ready to rock endgame PvP or PvE.

Guild armor requires a stronghold marketplace of rank 2 to purchase, and costs guild marks. You’ll be earning guild marks any time you contribute to your guild’s coffer, which you’ll be doing as you participate in Stronghold content. For more information on the guild coffer, see the previous blog post: Feeding the Beast.

(Contribute to your guild’s coffer and you’ll quickly earn yourself a set of guild armor so you can jump right into endgame action, be it PvP or PvE.)

For those looking to dominate other guilds in the new guild vs. guild PvP mode launching with the upcoming Stronghold Siege (a PvP game mode to be described in a future blog), a new set of prestigious PvP armor—Lionsmane will be available. This new top-of-the-line PvP armor is item level 140 and may be upgraded via elemental infusion to item level 142.

To earn Lionsmane armor you must gather seals of triumph, guild marks, and a new item with the release of Stronghold Siege: fallen banners. Fallen banners are earned through Stronghold Siege, with a greater number being granted the greater the victory, or the closer the loss. Even when the battle seems hopeless, or you’re sure you’ve won, pushing a little bit further will see your team rewarded for its efforts.

(Square off against other guilds in Stronghold PvP to earn powerful new Lionsmane armor, the new standard in PvP prestige and stats.)

For those more interested in teaming up with their guild against vicious monsters, one needs look no further than the new Dragonflight armor, powerful item level 140 equipment that may be upgraded to 142 via elemental infusion. Featuring dragon motifs and colors to match the fourfold dragons of the dragonflight, this armor declares that the wearer is a master dragonslayer.

Earning Dragonflight armor means earning seals of the protector, guild marks and the new fangs of the dragonflight. Fangs are earned from emerging victorious against two or more dragons in the new Greed of the Dragonflight guild event (available at your guild’s stronghold). Coordinate with your guild to take down these vicious beasts and earn the strongest armor in Neverwinter. The Greed of the Dragonflight will be featured in its own blog post in the near future, so stay tuned for more details.

(Team up with your guild and take down the Dragonflight! This 10 to 40 player content will yield the strongest set of PvE armor in Neverwinter.)

When you’re ready to spend your hard earned fangs, banners or guild marks, or should you wish to browse the new gear face-to-face with the vendor, just head over to your guild stronghold’s armory, the storefront closest to the guild coffer.

As mentioned above, guild armor will require a rank 2 marketplace; Lionsmane and Dragonflight armor will require rank 3 for accessories and rank 4 for arms, legs, head and body. Those ranks will be required in order to purchase the equipment, regardless of whether or not you have the resources. You can raise the rank of your guild’s marketplace by donating the necessary resources to the coffer, at which point the guild leader, or anyone with the correct permissions can begin upgrading the marketplace.

(You can check out all of the new Stronghold gear at your guild’s armory in your stronghold’s marketplace.)

With Neverwinter: Strongholds, we’ve done a lot of work to make it easier to understand what loot comes from where, and how to obtain it. This includes clearly communicating currency caps on currency tooltips, as well as including information on obtaining that currency that you can view directly from any stores that use that currency. Additionally, collections for new equipment sets spell out how to obtain new equipment in explicit detail. If a set requires multiple currencies, each is explained individually.

The dev team is dedicated to continuing to make your experience as a player better, and helping to make sure you can spend your time wisely, battling the right enemies, for the loot you want.
