Neverwinter Nights 2 LAN game type
The love letter said Borderlands 2 would have "LAN support (including offline mode)"; as far as I can tell, this was not delivered ( everything else seems to have been delivered, which is excellent). This was something I was really looking forward to. What happened to it? Right now, if I'm in Steam offline mode, I can't even select LAN.
I understand that it would probably have allowed more than one person under the same roof to play with only one copy of the game (which is what we used to do with many games, including Diablo 1 and 2 and Warcrafts (spawn copies), Civilization IV, Sacred 2, Age of Empires II, NeverWinter Nights 2, Rainbow Six, Dead Island, etc etc) . I thought that was the whole point though; people under the same roof not needing to buy multiple copies of the same game. Anyway, why put it in the love letter if you're not going to do it. This is what we did with Borderlands 1 actually, even through a Steam copy. Family members could play together with one copy under our one roof. When I played with friends who were in other houses, we'd use two copies of course.
We've come to a point with the PC industry where I don't usually have hopes for offline LAN, sadly (although it's still possible, sometimes). But when you went ahead and actually mentioned you were going to include it... Well I got excited about this trend-breaking choice. Now, well, I'm rather miffed.
